In April 2018, California’s Supreme Court established new rules for determining whether a worker is an independent contractor or an employee. Misclassifying your workers can result in serious fines and penalties that will significantly hurt your business – at both the federal and state level. Business owners can be required to pay years in back taxes, back wages, retroactive insurance premiums, in addition to other penalties. The new rules surrounding worker classification are complicated, making it extremely important for employers to get it right to avoid penalties and lawsuits. This workshop will educate business owners on the new A-B-C test and ensure you are classifying your workers correctly and protecting your company.
